MetaTrader 5 comes with some custom templates, but they are useless if your goal is to change the timeframe and visual style of forex charts. MetaTrader 5 can be configured to apply your custom template automatically on any currency forex chart.
Step 1
Close any currency charts that are open.
Step 2
Click on any currency pair, then select “Chart Window” by right clicking. Now, the default chart will open. This usually includes a bar graph on a dark background.

Click on any part of the chart and choose “Properties” by right clicking.

Choose the “Colors tab” in the “Properties window”. Here you can change the style of the graph. You can select the desired color by using the buttons located next to the chart elements. As you modify the chart, a preview will appear in the “Properties window”.

Click the “Common tab” when you’re done. You can modify the display of the MetaTrader 5 chart elements here. Click “OK” after making any necessary changes. You’ll now be able to see your chart with all the modifications.

Click on “Periodicity” and choose your desired timeframe.

Click on “Template” again and choose “Save Template” by right clicking any part of the graph window. Enter “Default” in the “File name” box and then click “Save.” You can now open any currency chart with the same visual style.
Warns
You must manually apply the template if you don’t save it with “Default” in the filename. Click anywhere in the chart window and select “Template” from the right-click menu. Then, click on the name of the chosen template.
